Training
I will be offering discounted training this year to provide quality horse training at a steal of a price. I'm just moving back home so after some spring cleaning I will be accepting training horses. I have been around horses for well over 13 years and every moment with a horse is one spent learning. however for formal training I spent around 6 months with a natural horsemanship trainer then most recently I spent 6 months Apprenticeship with a Professional Western Pleasure trainer.
I am not like any other trainer you will ever meet. I believe each horse has just as much to teach me about themselves as I have to teach them. I don't believe in rushing training its something that if rushed can ruin a good horse. I am only taking a limited amount of horses so that, each horse have one on one time, something horses often do not get when sent to a trainer. I have experiance with all sorts of breeds and horses of various ages from a newborn Quarter horse to a 4 year old Baskir Curly to a 20 year old Mustang mare. Age does not matter, learning can take place any where, any time.
Since every horse needs something different why should the price be the same? So here are some estimated prices per 30 days of training:
Halter Training
Price: $80 to $200 per 30 days
Includes teaching to lead, working with thier feet, working on loading and other basics like respect an trusting the person with the lead. I have no restrictions on age however for the horses over 1 will need more time than the younger ones. The older the horse the higher the price essential when it comes to halter training.
Rescue Work
Price: $200 per 30 days
In attempt to make a difference I will be accepting Rescue horses in for training for a reduced price since these horses have been through enough already I would like to see them be able to function normally if not lead a fully functional life, if I can not help the horse at all there will be NO training charge.
Ground Work
Price: $250+ per 30 days
Getting each horse ready for the saddle is something important and should not be taken lightly. throwing a saddle on is not the way it should be done because the horse should be mentally ready and should be prepared for what is to come in the future. throwing the saddle on with no other work then hopping on is like sending your kid right into the third grade without a clue. so I will spend time despooking the horse, teaching to lunge, to accept the bit and know what its for, to accept the saddle and see it as a good thing not something to be feared.
Starting under Saddle
Price: $200 to $300 per 30 days
At this point I will be working each horse on being soft on the bit, and riding relaxed at the walk and trot and depending on the horse's apptitude, at the lope as well. I will make sure the horse is understanding the cues and responding willingly.
Working under Saddle
Price: $200 to $400 per 30 days
From horses needing refreshers to horses with time in the saddle to greenies just needing some time on them they will get just that, time and patience. I will be getting the horse soft and flexable on the bit and working in a snaffle if possible. I will be working on smooth transitions and we will be taking plenty of trail rides learning focus and trust in the rider.
Starting or riding for Western Pleasure
Price: $350 to $500 per 30 days
Since starting a horse normally and starting for Western Pleasure varies from your average riding and cues I have to add this as a different section. you will have the choice of squeeze to stop or lifting your reins to stop, seeing as many prefer one or the other. but the horse will be worked with the intention of showing western pleasure. working on the correct lead will be encouraged, smooth transitions will be taught for the walk and trot as well as working in frame however each horse's physical fitness plays a part as to how long they can hold themself in frame. there will also be other basics covered like working on head set and slower gaits. I will get them as slow as they can mentally and physiclly go without adversly affecting thier cadence and movement, I will not be allowing any peanut pushing (drasticlly low head set) either.
Minor problem solving
Price: $50 to $400 per 30 days
got a problem? a quirk that the horse does and dont know how to fix, like nipping, crowding you, pushing you, maybe rearing a little under saddle or pull when tied or...whatever it is contact me and I will see what I can do. Please before coming to me be sure pain has been ruled out, check your saddle, have thier teeth check and see a vet or chiropractor to make sure thier actions aren't pain related..

All horses MUST respect hot fence.
Training is not about how much you can force the horse to do in a 30 day period, it's about teaching the horse how to be a willing partner, when they are, they will enjoy it all that much more. again these prices are estimates as each horse is different. You also get a minimum of 1 lesson with your horse and upto 3 lessons per 30 day training period so that you know how your horse is being trained and don't go home with a horse you dont know how to ride.
Also for more savings bring your own hay and/or grain and save $20 to $150 in board!
